Toyota: 1992 Celica electrical problems, dashboard lights, celica gt

Question
Hi,

I am having very strange electrical issues with my 1992 Celica
GT. Here is what is going on:

- Tachymeter sometimes doesn't work at all - stays at zero.
- Ceiling light turns on but it doesn't work if it is in the "Door"
position (doesn't turn on when a door is open).
- Some of the other dashboard lights do not work all the time,
such as the lights on the button to change the air circulation.

I do not have trouble starting the car. The headlights have never
caused a problem.

Thanks for your help!

Best,
Ray Sylvester

Answer
Hi,

strange problem... I think somebody worked on the wires and all the electric stuff that runs the dashboard, maybe there is some bad or wrong connection..
Otherwise check all relays and stuff.
Did water come in?

It's difficult to say without the car here, but the only thing is that you have to open your dashboard and check all the wires and stuff, if possible with a similar car to spot the differences.

Hope this helps a little!
Regards,
Jack
