Giacomo......I have a '91 Lexus 250 6 cylinder auto.
With 88,000 miles on the odometer, when should I consider changing the timing belt?
Many thanks,
SG
Answer -
Hello,

Never replaced it? normally you replace the timing belt at 100'000km/60'000 miles. I suggest you have it replaced! if it breaks, major damage to your engine will occour.

Jack.......since I am not the original owner, is there a way I can check to see if the belt was ever changed?
Thanks,
Saul
PS.....I got the car at about 60,000 miles from a dealer in Fl.  The dealer was not sure.

Answer
Hello,

Sorry for the late reply... well the only ways are:
- if it is written in the services book
- Have it inspected by a professional mechanic, to see if it is too worn out
In this case he could tell you if you have to change it.

Jack
