Ok It's me again, I sent ya some pics, don't think they will help though.... So now we have discovered one wheel if you spin it, it spins the axle, I think this one is correct.. However the other wheel if you spin it, the axle does not spin. Soooo we took off the axle from that side it appears to be fine, now it seems the issue might lie within the brake drum????? Some info gave to us was a "key way" might be broke???? Hubby can't get the one piece off to check inside the brake drum, but he is working at it....What do you think????

I think I know what your problem is.  The axle splines are stripped either on the brake drum or the axle stub itself.

This is good news for you, as your transmission should be ok.

He needs to remove the large rear nut and check out the splines.
