Volkswagen: 71 supper oil light flickering after about 30min on highway, light flickers, oil light

HI,
I have a 71 Supper and the oil light flickers when i am on the highway about 30min to my trip. Is this normal or do i need to have this checked out. If you could help that would be great.

Hi Jackie,

The oil light is ok to flicker at idle.  If it is doing this on the highway -- you should first try to replace the oil pressure sensor, and make sure that the oil is full.

I'd advise not to drive the car (in the interest of saving your motor) until you are sure what the problem is.
