Volvo: 1976 volvo, tank fuel, manual states

Question
my 1976 244 volvo is one without an in-tank fuel pump. my owner's manual states that there is a filter in the tank that needs to be cleaned every 15,000 miles. i do all my own maintenence but have never serviced this tank filter. is it attached to the sending unit or something? is it the same type of filter that is on the cars with a prepump? do i just clean it and reinstall it? i recently put a new main fuel pump on because the old one was leaking and the car runs fine but i would hate to draw any debris into the new pump-i have only put 50 or so miles on it in the last couple of months since i put the new pump on because i have been driving my truck lately for work. thanks so much, jeff w.   and one more question if it is okay, is peak global lifetime coolant (supposed to be safe for all makes and models) okay to put in this car after a complete coolant flush?

Answer
Jeff,
There is a screen type of filter on the end of the sending unit. I would try to find a replacement filter as you never know the condition of the filter you will remove. It is not the same as a car with a pre pump. I would say the coolant you speak about is good to use. I however just use a good quality coolant and change it ever two years.
