Volvo: volvo 1991 240, amp fuse, fuel pump relay

Question
QUESTION: Ray, our 1991 Volvo 240 will not start.  My husband Peter had to do some body work on the front after a minor accident.  The car had just had an oil change and seemed to be running OK the week before the accident.  He took the battery out for about three weeks while he was working on it.  He recharged the battery.  Now the car won't start.  He has replaced fuses, cleaned points, etc.  All lights and radio are working. It does not seem to be firing.  Thank you.

ANSWER: Kathleen,
Make sure that power is at the fuel pump relay. Crank over the engine see if the power flows to the fuel pump (pink wire). Make sure 25 amp fuse under hood by battery is plugged in and in working order. With the key on is there power at the coil? If the engine is cranked over is there spark out of the coil secondary wire? Check other wires that might have been moved during repairs.

QUESTION: Ray, we can't find the fuse by the battery.  Can you give us more detail about where it is?  There is power to the coil.  Thanks.

Answer
Kathleen,
Well look for the wire connector block that should have a red wire from the battery going to it and serveral red wires exiting. Make sure that all are good and getting power.
When you crank the car do you get spark at the plugs? Do the fuel pumps run and deliever 42 psi to the fuel rail? Is there an injector pulse to open and close the injectors? At the fuel pump relay is there power at the red wire? When you crank is power flowing to the pump?
