will a engine and tranny from a 98 v70 xc fit a 2000 v70 xc if both have the 56 digit in the vin of the cars thanks

Most times I see a somewhat different looking engine in the 2000's. Will it fit and bolt up, yes. How will the ignition and injection work? I would say not well. There are many different systems, not all compatable. Do the engines look the same? Could the 2000 be a 5 speed auto, do both have the same emission systems, are both wire harness systems laid out the same? So many things to check. Even that both have the 56 vin, are the engine designations the same?
