Volvo: No speedometer, speed signals, abs light

Question
Wiil the ABS moduel being bad, (ABS light on) cause the Speedo not to work? I would say this is more likely the cause then the VSS (Vechile spped sensor)??? It worked once in awhile, now not at all.

The speedo and ABS do share signals and I did have a car once that after installing the control unit all speedo issues where over. You can more test that by hooking up the VST and driving the car to see if speed signals are showing up in the ABS system. You can also monitor the instrument cluster and see if speed signals show up.
