Volvo: hard to start, fuel pressure gauge, normal temperature

Question
Hi Ray, my S70 1998, after get hot (normal temperature) takes about 4~6 seconds to start, and after get cold takes that time too, but only for the very first time. If i start it and stop it, since the second time, starts normally!!!! Any suggestion? Thx...

Answer
Orlando,
There may be a rest fuel pressure problem. You need a fuel pressure gauge hooked to the system and when the car is turned off watch to see if the pressure drops to below 1 bar (14.7 psi) in 30 minutes. If the pressure fails there is a leak in the fuel system. Another thought, has all the service been done, fuel filter tune up etc.? If not might try catching up on the needed service. Make sure that you also see if there are any fault codes in the system and if there are then go ahead and take care of those problems to see if that helps.
