Hi, read your instructions re antenna mast replacement however my details differ and as a result your directions did not work for my car... when radio goes on only the first (thickest) section of the mast comes up - I cant even force the other sections (thinner opnes) up... i did take off the 16mm securing screw but the mast would not come out when turning radio on - the motor is running strong... how should i procede - i did take trunk panel off and look at motor - looks complicated - any advise - is there an online repair manual free or for pay?  wife's car - runs beautifully want 200k before buy new one - :-)

Does the motor continue to run, but the mast stop going up? If so then the motor gear system might be stripped. I would take apart the antenna and see if there was a piece of the old mast tail stuck in the winding gear. If you take it apart carefully one piece at a time and remember how they came off. The manual that Volvo prints do not detail the antenna. I do not know of any sites that will give any details.
