Volvo: car doors, car doors, donovan

Question
i have 2 problems. the first is that the rear door on the drivers side does not open. how do i fix this?
and the other is the auto door lock (the thing that sticks out of the panel. i forgot what its called) fell out where does it go back in? (pics would be great)

The door panel for the left rear will need to come off and the lock are inspected to see what is causing the problem.
The door lock knob goes to the main lock relay that is mounted inside the door. The panel will have to be removed to see if the knob is broke or if the clip holding it is missing. There is no way to send photos on this site.
