Volvo: Almost to 300 K !, fuel pump relay, fuse block

Question
Hello Ray, I am at a loss and am not much of a mechanic so, here's te Question. It's 1987 240 dl wagon. I am not getting any power to the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump relay. The pump works direct. I replaced the fuses. With a check light I get a light at the relay plug in on the red/black wire with the key turned on. This is without the relay pluged in. Thats the only light I get. Plug in the relay and I get a light on the red/black and Green/black wires. Is that all i should get? I checked the wire's from the fuse block to the end of the power wire at the pump with a tester. Meaning I put the contact probe at the fuel pump fuse holder and a contact probe at the wire at the pump and the tester beeped. Like I say. I am no mechanic. But that would mean there is no short between the two, correct? So is there another relay I chould check and how do I do it? Is there a shut off switch I don't know about? Could it be a ground problem?
Before it died it was stalling at stop signs before it got warm and would have a stalling, chugging sensation while on the hwy. before it was warmed up. Started hard after it sat for a bit say after a 30 mile trip. Please help if you can. She has got 296,895 mi. on her and is itching to get to 300K. thank you, Tim

Answer
Tim,
At the pump relay you should have terminal 30 large red wire 12 volts all the time. The relay should click when you crank the engine. Yellow/black and the blue/green are grounds when the engine is cranking, at that point you should get 12 volts to the pump large yeellow/red wire.
