Volvo: door locks, 1993 volvo 960, volvo 960

The keys for my 1993 Volvo 960 wagon will unlock only the passenger door,
not the back hatch or driver's door. I can lock all the doors with the key from
the driver's door, though. Also, the chime goes off whenever the driver's door
is open. Are these annoying problems related and how can they be fixed?

So using the driver's lock all doors lock, but not all will unlock. That would indicate the driver's door master switch. The chime sounds like the ignition lock has a stuck window over the opening and that will keep the chime on. Look at the lock and see if the flap is covering the hole when the key is pulled out. That flap gets stuck and allows the chime to ring. Option, remove the chime relay.
