Volvo: Volvo V70 aircon, volvo enthusiasts, volvo v70

Question
Hi, I have a 1998 V70 with dual climate control. Since buying the car two years ago I have spent nearly £1000.00 on the aircon. I have had it re-charged several times by so called "experts".
The problem is still there. The aircon will work for approx 10-15mins then go warm. The compressor kicks in initially then the clutch disengages and will not come back on. If the vehicle is left for 20mins with engine off, the aircon will operate again for a short time. there seems to be no power to the compressor when this occurs.

There is adequate pressure in the system & there are no leaks. The blower works very well. If I turn the aircon off when it is working, it will not come back on when I switch it back.

Any ideas? Would be very grateful as I am becoming very frustrated.

Took the car to Volvo agent they told me compress was faulty. I have replaced that with a "re-claimed unit but still problem occurs.

Regards, Marc

Answer
i don't really know about the newer volvos, you might want to check www.brickboard.com, a site with volvo enthusiasts
i could mention some things it could be but i don't want you to think that it might be them, it might be the relay or clogged expansion valve/or (orifice), pressure switch etc
