Volvo: keep the 940?, conscientious owner, decent shape

Question
Since 2001, I've had an excellent 940 sedan turbo. Now it has 169,000 miles. It's been serviced regularly and I've expended many dollars on keeping it in tip-top mechanical condition. I am the third conscientious owner. Now, the time comes to wonder, should I sell while it is running so well? Or should I keep it around, figuring I've already invested so much in it. The car is a joy to drive, and I love RWD. Do 940s degenerate in any particular way (other than brake pads and rotors)? Thanks very much for any insight you might have.

Answer
Lynda,
If the car is going to just sit and not get used, sell it. Any car without some use just sitting just fades away. If it is going to be used keep it and drive it. Yes things do wear out (especially brakes) but that is the same for all vehicles. Although you will get more for the car now that it is running well so you need to make a decision about keeping the old one or getting your money and up grading.
As far as falling part, mostly it depends on the part of the country you live. Is the vehicle all rusted and or faded? Engine wise I have seen many with well over 250K on them. Regular maintenance make the difference. If the car runs so well and if the body is in decent shape I would keep it. Beat payments, right?
