Volvo: 6-CD player, Volvo 850 wagon, volvo 850 wagon, volvo wagon

I have just purchased a 1995 Volvo wagon. The CD player is in the back of the car. I have been unsuccessful getting it to play. The reader on the dash shows "E-01" or "E-02." There are no troubleshooting tips in the Owner's Manual. I've put the CDs in in both directions. Before I go to a radio/CD shop, can you offer any suggestions?

Hello! There may be a CD stuck in the player. Remove the cartridge and empty it out. Put it back in empty, the stuck CD should come out. If you can't get the cartridge out, Try sliding a credit card under it. Also, check the in line fuse at the back of the player.
