Next step is to luck at the distributor.  Check for corrosion, condensation, chipped plastic, and broken rotating parts inside the cap.  Also check the length of each spark plug wire and the wire from the distributor to the coil.  A small hole or puncture anywhere can cause the current to arc to the frame as much as 6 inches away, shorting the circuit.  Good luck!
