Volvo: volvo lights, vovlo cars, rough weather

Why do the majority of vovlo cars always have their headlights on during the daytime no matter what age the car or model the car is. I was once told they have sensors fitted to come on automatically is this true

Most models had automatic sensors starting in the early 90's, so that sounds like a reasonable conclusion.  Also, many drivers put their lights on during the day manually, especially during the winter months because it offers better visability during rough weather.
