Jeep Repair: REMOVE IGNITION CYLINDER, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Question
How do I remove the ignition cylinder for a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo  experiencing problems with the dash instruments and the engine cut-off. code reads P1685 P1686 and P1687 invalid skim key. i was told to start at replacing the ignition switch and cylinder for starters. hopefully thats where it would end. countless alternatives to electrical problems including the computor or cluster or modules. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Answer
first of all  the IGN cly is mechanical  not electrical  so it will have no bearing on anything electrical. second  if its a skim issue  only a dealer can repair this due to the way the system is set up. If u mess with it  be prepared to pay more for some one that knows what they are doing to fix it.
