Volvo: Volvo AC panel in dash, sodder, swtich

Question
I have soldered the connection on inside panel of a 1991 740 Volvo 4 cyc no-turbo. The AC worked for 1.5 days and now it does not> I have pressed the AC switch on the panel and bent the fingers so it makes contact to turn on AC. The system has no leaks, and gets power to turn on, and off. Is the switch now the problem-how do fix it or replace with what. Or did the solder not work? JIM

Answer
Jim,  You didn't give me enough information to know exactly what you are talking about, but I surmise that if it worked initially then stopped, that either the sodder you attempted failed, or the bending of the fingers broke a connection internally in the switch.  To fix, rexamine your sodder, and dissasemble the switch to look for an internal break.  If you don't find anything, go to a local pick-your-part yard and pull a swtich off another 740 for a few bucks.
