Volvo: 1993 volvo, volvo 850 glt, sec intervals

Question
Hi, i have a 1993 volvo 850 GLT. I have never had any ploblems with it until now. It will not start, you can hear it turning over..but nothing catches or fires..it doesn't make the "click click" noise that most cars make when the battery is dead, so i don't think that is it..do you ahve any suggestions? Thanks
Stephanie

Answer
Hello Stephanie! I sounds like the valves are stuck. Sometimes, if the car is started and is turned off before normal operating temperature is reached, it can cause the lifters to bleed down and the valves become stuck. Try cranking the car in 15-20 sec intervals while fluttering the gas pedal. If it starts, it may run a little rough for a minute and blow out alot of smoke. It should clear up. Use synthetic oil for your next oil change. This may keep this from happening again. I hope this info helps you. Let me know what happens. I'll be here if you need me!
