Driving & Driving Test Tips: Pls reply ASAP, bike lane, licensing department

Question
Hi Don,

I am taking my driving test tomorrow (in California) and I have this Question " in DMV guide book it is written that you should always use bike lane while making a right turn"
Generally it is broken at the end but at some places it's solid white line.

so should I enter into it or not?

Answer
I can't believe that any test book would advocate using the "bike lane" to drive in!

In general you should not cross a solid white line defining the main road, but of course there are solid white lines that make up things like crosswalks.

If in making a normal right turn, the lanes cross a bike path, then yes, I would think you should stay in whatever is the normal path for that lane.

I have no real answer for you, I would recommend you contact the California DMV or the licensing department and ask directly.

Sorry I could not be more help.

Don
