4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Electrical Problem, jeep cherokee limited, jeep cherokee

Question
I have a '95 Jeep Cherokee Limited w/ 150,000 miles in nice shape, but........ My overgrown son pushed the rear overhead console light too hard & pushed the lenses in (broke the rear screw mount for it). The lenses have been removed but since then: Intermittent flashing of cargo & courtesy lights only when key is on. The antenna goes halfway up and down continuously until radio is off. When you turn on 1 of the other front or rear overhead light they're fine. Turn them both on (a pair) & they are dim. Center console info flashes & can't be reset. Everytime you start vehicle with the a/c on, the temp goes to a setting of 75 degrees. You must turn it down each time on a restart. Also, the auto door locks only work when the doors are closed. And for 2 years the auto position for the light switch worked, but no dash lights. There was also a funny noise coming from what seemed to be the right lower side of the dashboard until I unplugged the circuit board in the overhead console. Is it the circuit board in the overhead that is bad? Everything but the dashlights seemed to happen all at once. Thank you GJO

Answer
It sounds like you have a short to ground problem going on , and thats tough to track without a tester like we have in our shop, the tester you can take and run it over and around the car and it will beep when is detects a short, so without something like that, you could be chasing your tail around for a long time thanks ADAM
