4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: need help with starter, bolts, gmc

I have a 1986 gmc s-15 jimmy and have no idea how to get the old starter out to get the new one in

There should be 2 bolts on the bottom of the starter to remove and it should be loose then. There will be one big red wire going to it and a small wire right above it. remove the nuts holding these on and the starter should just drop out. On some engines these can be quite a pain to maneuver them out but it can be done. I can help you better with instruction if you can follow up with what engine you have and if it 4x4 or 2 wheel drive
