4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 1993 Ford Exploer, rear cargo area, car transport

I have a question about the carring capacity of the 1993 ford exploer. I am  considering transporting a 800lb. gun safe for over 500 miles. Can the car transport that much weight in the rear cargo area? U-Haul refuses to rent a trailer to an exploer owner and I do not know what else to do. Advice?

I apologize but I think 800lb in the cargo are is a bit much for the explorer. A pickup truck, maybe but the suv wasn't designed for it. Check with local equipment rental places where you can rent tractors and work equipment, they usually put up no fuss to rent anything...if they don't rent they make no money
