Question
i have just replaced my cylinder head with a factory setup
new casting using the 5 holed (THICKEST) gasket new heater
plugs and reconditioned injectors
but i now have a diesel knock like a rivet gun
how do i get rid of it

your ignition timing may be off a bit. You will need to check and set the timing for accuracy. On Toyotas there is a process to setting it though. You have to cross two terminals in the data link connector under the hood to put it in the right mode to accept the new timing due to the computer controlling the advance curve. After this is done you can set the new timing setting, this may have to be done by use of a scan tool at a dealer. I would give the dealer a call and get a second opinion to make sure of the steps
