I have a 1995 nissan pathfinder and it will not engage into 4 wheel drive automatic with auto hubs

I'm not familiar with which transfer case the Pathfinder has.  also, is this a new problem, or an existing one?  I would check out the owner's manual, and make sure that you are using the correct shifting procedure.
Many of these transfer cases use a vacuum, or electrical system to lock in the front end.  You may have a broken, or loose vacuum line, or bad wire/ground.
If you wish to trouble shoot the problem yourself, then you should purchase a repair manual at your local auto parts store.  These cost around $20, and are for specific vehicles.  They are great if you plan on doing any of your own repair or maintenance.
