Bud,

I have this car and the lease ends on October 15.  I can buy the car for approx. $23,000 out of the lease.  If I do not buy it, I will owe an "extra mileage" charge of about $5,000.  I like the car and it runs well, although I had to replace the Transmission about 6,000 miles ago.

Should I buy it or should I turn it in, pay the extra mileage fee and start over?

Thanks, Craig (772.461.6002)  If you call me, I'll call you back on my nickle.  It is Monday night at 7:09 PM EDT as I sent this.

Craig, your question identifies your vehicle as a XP300 and I can not find that model designation.  Is this a SUV?  If so is it the LX or the RX?  Please let me know and I will check further.  Thanks for the question, Bud

Sorry Bud, yes it is an 2001 RX300 with 87,000 miles.

Answer
Hi again Craig.  You are right at the high end of the value for this vehicle and the choice is going to be up to you.  You know how the vehicle has been maintained and what kind of service you have recieved from it.  This is normally a fine vehicle, as almost all from Toyota, and should have many miles and years left.  Whatever your decision I wish you the best of luck.  Bud in Melbourne Beach, Florida the home of all kind of storms this year.  Would you believe that we have had 40 mph winds and heavy rain from Ivan that has been gone for almost a week?  "Ain't nature wonderful?"
