4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 97 Tacoma Leaf Springs, toyota tacomas, leaf springs

Question
I found a place that has used leaf springs for Toyota Tacomas.  Can I put a newer leaf (from the years the didn't break) on my '97 Ext.cab 4WD..?  Also-How do I know which one is the "newer one" if...say they were in a pile on the floor of a junk yard?

Answer
Mike,

You can use any of the springs, as long as you make sure both sides match.  If the newer springs are slightly thicker, or a different length, make sure you change the matching spring or springs on the opposite side so that they match.  As far as the junk yard springs, you have no guarantee of the age of the springs, or how they were used, or abused, along with an unknown mileage.
