Suzuki: 1996 suzuki sidekick sport, suzuki sidekick sport, 1996 suzuki sidekick

Question
what engine (v6 or v8) will bolt up to the transmission if any?

Answer
It's possible the Vitara V6 might fit. Look around on izook dot com's links, and do a google search for sidekick modification parts.
I don't know the answer to that for sure, I only modify Samurai.

Consider the following first:  If you install a significantly larger motor, the trans, t-case, driveshafts and differential will be more highly stressed, and will have significantly shorter lifespans.

If you are looking for better off-road performance, gear it down, and modify the suspension, which will allow you to use better offroad tires.  Besides, you can't go fast off road, unless you want to break lots of suspension parts, and get stranded with a very broke and undriveable vehicle.  Been there done that.
