Suzuki: 95 Sidekick oil smoke on startup, hill city sd, schultz hill

Question
Hi, I have a 95 Sidekick with 1.6 liter 16 valve engine.  I'm a retired mechanic but don't know a lot about this particular engine.  The engine has 62,000 miles and runs great, never have to add oil but after sitting overnight I get a good deal of oil smoke from the exhaust, aside from that no smoke for the rest of the day even on decel.  My first thought was the PCV valve but this didn't help.  Other than valve seals is there any way oil can get to the intake manifold or into the cylinders.
Thanks in advance,

Answer
Sounds like the guide seals are letting a little bit sneak by while it sits.  It's not a problem unless you experience measurable increase in oil consumption.   About the only thing different about this is it's like many other japanese motors in that it has very hard and tough cylinder liners with an aluminum block cast around them.  I've seen motors with 350 k miles that did not need bored yet, just new pistons.
