Tips on Buying Cars: Buying a 2007 closeout, best bet, paying taxes

When is the best time to buy a 2007 closeout, before the end of 2007 or after the first of 2008?

Answer
It will depend a little on circumstances... If the dealership has already gotten the 08's in - they will obviously sell an 07 for cheap.. but almost every dealer will try to sell their older inventory before the new year (to avoid paying taxes on them) - so you best bet would probably be before the end of december.

Just know that as long as they have some of the 07's left.. you will be able to get a nice deal regardless of when, but the dealership will be more motivated if they can spare some tax expense.  Many people know this though, so you may be hard pressed to find a good deal that hasn't already been snatched up.
