Tips on Buying Cars: upside down in lease, milage, new lease

Question
Thanks so much for taking my question!  I am 2 years in on a 3 year lease
and already OVER my allowed TOTAL milage by 7,000 miles.  I dont know if i
should turn the vehichle in now and pay 12 moths payments (250*12= 3000)
plus the milage penalty (7000*.2 = 1400) all totaling $5,200.  the vehicle is
worth only 7800 now and the residual is 13,500 plus the 5,200.  i think i def.
need to give the car back to them its just whether or not i can get a better
deal on trading in on a new car of the same make or take my 5200 loss and
start looking at cars i might like better.  im just curious if the dealership that i
lease the car from might eat the 5200 loss if i look leasing another one of
their cars.  or, if ANY dealership might consider doing that if i lease one fo
THEIR cars

Answer
Hi Dan
Forget the idea going back or trying to re-lease with someone else, the only one that will eat the negative will be you as it will be build into your new lease or purchase.

I have a few questions about your lease thats not clear and want to help you, go to my website  http://www.usedcartips.org/index.html  and contact me from there with a phone # and best time to call, I have toll free calling for USA and Canada.
