Tips on Buying Cars: BMW Warranty Question, cpo warranty, bmw z4

Question
Thanks again Ray, just figured I would fill you in on what I found out.  I called BMW Warranty services and they confirmed that the initial warranty is good until 4/2007 or 50,000 miles and that the CPO warranty is good until 4/2009 or 100,000 miles.  This is a CPO car and there will be no charge to have the warranties transferred to me, I just need to call them.
I also found out the name of the previous owner that traded in the car.  I looked him up in the phone book and he was really friendly on the phone, he couldn't talk more highly of the car and explained why he traded it in (for an Audi all wheel, he lives in NH, makes sense).  He also had nice things to say about the dealership that was selling the car.
The carfax report came up clean, no accidents or repair work, just normal servicing.  It is also available for you to look at for free on the cars.com link that I emailed you.
Thanks again for your advice, I'll read your website and if you want to know how I make out feel free to send me an email.

-----Question-----
Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a used 2003 BMW Z4 from a local Acura dealership, its on their used lot.  They said they took it in on a trade.  I'm told that the guy who traded it in bought it as a Certified Pre-Owned, therefore it comes with the 100,000/6 year warranty that comes with the CPO program.  You can see the car here:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&paId=209 ascending&certifiedOnly=false&recnum=0&leadExists=true&criteria=K-%7CE-%7CM-_5_%7CD-_6808_%7CN-N%7CR-50%7CI-1%7CP-PRICE ascending%7CQ-ascending%7CZ-02472&aff=boston

I have a couple questions:  is there a way to find out for sure if this car is a CPO and covered under that warranty and is the warranty fully transferable to me?
Any advice you can provide would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Kevin

Hi Kevin
I am sure the salesman told you the truth about vehicle having an extended warranty, but what he neglected to tell you is that there is quite an expensive transfer fee.

Visit the service Dept of any BMW dealer with this Vin # 4USBT33433LS41144  The service advisor will enter the last 8 digits and confirm if vehicle comes with the CPO program. at same time find out cost of transfer.
Note i said visit not phone, the reason, some service advisors are so busy drinking coffee & eating donuts they pretend they dont have time at the moment.

Check out my website  http://www.usedcartips.org/
and follow the 10 steps how to buy a used car, it will help you to make sure you have covered all the bases before purchase
