Tips on Buying Cars: returning vehicle after you sign, ponitac vibe, kelly blue book

Question
I recently signed a contract on a vehicle(suzuki xl-7). We put $1000 downpayment, come to find out after we signed the contract that nobody wanted to finance us. The sales associate calls us up and says we need more money. I told him if he would give us a little bit of time I can come up with an additional $400 as far as the down payment. Well One week he calls me up and says I found you a car you'll love cheap on gas and everything. Okay great my husband and I go look at the car it's a Ponitac Vibe. I post dated a check for $400 and sign papers on that contract. They said the ones for the Suzuki Xl-7 were voided. I asked him to run a carfax report they told me yes. After we sign papers for the Vibe I asked about the carfax report and he told me no cause they are losing money. They sold that Vibe at below Kelly Blue Book value. A couple of days afters we got the Vibe home I received a phone call from the Sales Associate asking me about our insurance deductions. I told him they were 500/1000 cause our insurance was so high it was the only way to drop it down a little. The finance company told my husband either we change our deduction or they cant finance us.So I ran the VIN against Carfax and it's got 3 or 4 claims against it. But we basically are not satisfied and we just want to cancell the contract.

Answer
stacy, if it is more then 72 hours, you are probably stuck.....As long as it is not a branded title, the dealer probably can hold you to the sale. As far as the insurance, most lenders require 500/500 deductibles, hate to give you this information su=ince it is not what you want to hear....by the way what state are you in?
