Tips on Buying Cars: torn between two autos, 8l, extra money

Question
Ray:
I am considering buying a newer car. I am interested in the 2002 Pont. Grand Prix. I am debating between a GT and SE. I have driven the GT and loved it. It is all decked out. My question is: is the $3000.00 extra for the GT over the SE worth it? If so, how? I find myself trying to justify spending the extra money, but my practical side says buy the SE and save the money.
Also, the dealer offered a specific price for my trade in when talking about the GT. If I decide for the SE, should I expect him to lower the offer for the trade in or is this considered unethical? Any help in this dilemma would be appreciated.
Thank you:
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike
Yes there is a big difference...the GT has got the 3.8L engine one of the best GM ever made plus you got other up-grades such as alloys VS hubs etc...
if you like power and up-grades then its the GT...
Want to save money on fuel and maintenace and overall cost then its the SE
As for your trade...if you decide on the SE...tell him you want the same as offered on the GT...
there is nothing unethical here its your hard earned money...your in the driver seat not the dealer...
As for the dealer offering you a special price for your trade should you buy the GT...that really makes me steam...what a load of crap...think about it...your trade is worth more if you buy the GT...its marked up much higer to show your trade worth more...
SUMMARY
Should you decide SE then specific price offered for trade with GT...you want same buying the SE...stay firm...i repeat stay firm or go home...
I really am interested in your question and would like full details should you decide SE and not get it at same trade value...
