Tips on Buying Cars: First time buyer, first time buyer, red flags

Question
I really need a van because I have three small children(with big car seats) and a big family. But I don't have much money so I have been calling around my area to used care lots and looking online for a good deal. Yesterday I called the used car lot my sister bought her car from and they had a van it is a Toyota Sienna 2005 with 124 thousand miles and they are asking 3,200 for it. I haven't went to the lot personally but my uncle did and he said it looked good and my boy friend told my to jump on it. But I'm still not sold and I'm no expert so I don't know what to ask the dealer or do about this! Will you please give me some suggestions on questions to ask, things to look out for, and maybe a little advice? Thank you.

Answer
Hi Cora

I have answered well over 5000 car questions on the Internet with most issues being after purchase and here you are doing the right steps looking for advice prior to purchase to lessen the fear ending up with lemon, give yourself a pad on the back.

$3,200 for a 2005 Sienna sounds to good, is there a link you can send, if not provide the dealers name and zip code, and I will check for Red Flags.

Buying a used car is a process of a few steps, I want you to link to my website and start with this window  http://www.usedcartips.org/TESTDRI.html  from there link to " take to Mechanic " if something you don't fully understand feel free to ask, most buyers can't find the time for study and many will end up with problems after purchase, you will find the time, Right ?
