Tips on Buying Cars: 1997 Expedition

I am thinking about buyin a 1997 expedition from my friend. it has 148,000 miles on it but he is selling it for $4200 for my truck now i can get around $8500. I was gonna use the extra money to fix up the expedition a little like new paint and etc. I have been wanting a car with more room thats why im lookin into it. My dad thinks that 148,000 miles is too much. What do you think?

Your father may right on the miles.I always believed older and high mile cars or trucks can cost a lot of money in maintance.If you have the ability to buy a car alone, consider the money you have,make this a good down payment on newer and lower mile car.In the end,you will spend a lot less money in repairs or grief.Good Luck!
