Tips on Buying Cars: Car purchase in Ontario, zero percent financing, first thing monday morning

Question
I purchased a car last night Saturday.  I was given a high pressure sales talk about a bottom line monthly payment.  Finally after about an hour and a half of going back and forth and deals I did not want to listen to, I told the Salesperson that I wanted the cash price that I would have to pay to give me a zero percent financing which would result in not more that $300 per month for 36 months.  He told me $7200. I went back at $7000 and the keyless entry.  We shook hands and he gave me a financial consultant who sold me a 6 year extended warrantee that he wanted to roll into the monthly payments. I said no that I wanted it in the cash and leave the monthly payments as they were.  I saw the screen he was writing on I told him that the keyless entry and security were in the price agreed upon.  He called the salesperson who gave him trouble that he was with another client.  The long and short of the matter is he printed an agreement.  He drew my attention to where to sign.  He said that because of their good price, I was to waver the 3 months delayed payment and a couple of other things he said that everything was in the bottom line.  I signed assuming all was well.  I went to my mothers for a visit.  When I got home I phoned a friend and discussed my purchase and the pressures that I received to sign and have it delivered by Monday.  I then looked at the bottom line which was almost $700 more than the $10,200  agreed upon.  It was almost 11:00 P.M.  I left 2 voice messages in sales knowing that the next day was Sunday and the dealership was closed.  I finally listened to the message and left personal messages to both the salesperson and financial person.  I told them that this was very different that what was agreed and that I was not prepared to go through this contract.  I told them both that I would be there first thing Monday Morning when the dealership opens even though I must go to the doctor's.  I am very angry.  I feel deceived.  The financial man, Solomon, even told me what my monthly payments would be verbally.  However the bottom figure divided by 36 would be more.  I want out of this contract.  Do I have to put this in writing?  Please advise.

Answer
Hi Lucy

I much appreciate your detailed mail and fully understand your frustration, I want to be on your side of the fence, but facts are you signed a bill of sale and unless you can prove misrepresentation or terms on bill of sale have to be altered in any way you could end up forfeiting your deposit if dealer got one in hand ? Some dealers will play hardball while other dealers are more geared towards customer satisfaction.

I wish you would have had the chance to study the steps how to buy a car on my website, please read this link   http://www.usedcartips.org/ANYWARRANTY.html   you will then understand a little more about how the business office function, also the warranty you been offered I would be interested to know whom the service provider is ? as most warranty's are not worth the paper they are written on, unless it's a warranty direct from the mfg making that vehicle.

I happen to be located on the same turf as you, but before I guide you further would like to know what transpired between you and dealership regarding messages you submitted ? hopefully this mornings  conversation meets your expectations. You can reply back to this link or leave a phone number where you can be reached at raypaulsen99@yahoo.com with best times to make contact if you need further input

Wish you a happy day today
