Tips on Buying Cars: Getting out of a contract, reputable dealer, day grace

Question
My son and daughter-in-law signed a contract to purchase a car on Saturday afternoon. The payments are $480 a month for the used car. After talking to friends and family, they are not sure they want it. When they purchased it the auto had not been cleaned up yet and the salesperson told them if, when it was cleaned up they did not want it, they could walk away. Now he is telling them they cannot get out of the contract. What can they do?

Answer
Some states have a 3 day grace. I would drop it off at the dealership, and report them to your state if they give you a hard time. If it is a reputable dealer they will do this for you. It is probably the salesperson saying this as he will lose a commission.
