Tips on Buying Cars: Signed Contract Purchase Agreement, scion xb, toyota dealer

Question
I went to a Toyota dealer to buy a 2008 Scion Xb. Negotiated a deal I felt good about. Signed a contract that I would purchase car at roughly $15,000 plus taxes. I was promised three different warranties. When I went to the finance manager's office, I was then informed I was not getting one of the warranties. I was very unhappy and said the deal was off. I then had the dealership tear up what I hope was the contract with my name on it. However, I forgot to take the ripped up contract.
No money exchanged hands. Is there anyway I could still be on the hook for this car? We never got any farther than the agreed upon price. I did not take possession of the car and gave them no money for a down payment.

Thanks, Kala

Answer
hi kala,
from what you are telling me, it sounds like you do ot have any deal. they would need a signature on a contract from the finance person.....I would send a certified letter to the dealership saying thanks but no thanks, and you have purchased a vehicle elsewhere.....good luck..let me know if any other questions
