Tips on Buying Cars: value, mercedes dealer, luck steve

Dear Steve,
Can I get your opinion on the discounting of a dealer owned Benz with 7K
miles on it?  They're offering me $2,500 off on this 08 model.  I've purchased
about 20 cars from them but this is the first used (dealer owned) one I am
thinking about. Think that discount is good?

hi james,
first off the 09's are either out or out very soon.....How much and what model are you looking at? For a brand new 08 i would want more then $2500.00 off. O.k....if the car you are looking at is at least $40,000 i would ask for a new 08 untitled, $7500 off, if it is used with 7,000 miles i would want closer to $10,000. Remember, you have purchased 20 cars, you might try another Mercedes dealer, and see what they offer, then go back to your dealer and see if they will meet it...Let me know how it all goes, and if i can answer anything else for you!
