Tips on Buying Cars: Buying Acura EL 2004, auction price, main objective

Question
Hello Jeremy,

Thank you for offering to help here. I was recently told the value of the premium model at auction price is 10,500, but i have only been seeing this car close to 15 and 16k, so when I last went into the dealer and asked for 12,400-700, it didn't quiet go as planned. After reducing the price to that level they kept on adding MISC. charges making it go back closer to the orignal price.  The closest i see is the following

I would like to pay for the car  fully..and don't need financing. How would I go about getting a good deal without feeling i'm not goin to get it and its going to stay there for someone else? Thanks so much.

Answer
Thinesh,

Well a couple of things here.  First the dealer has the right to except or refuse any offer, just as you do.  You main objective is to explain to them that is the only price you are going to pay.  You don't have to pay for any added extras.  The only thing you want to pay for is the automobile, but they have the right not to accept your offer.  I think that vehicle is probably worth around 14,000.

Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks - Jb
