Tips on Buying Cars: purchasing vehicle, luck jim, shipping crate

Question
I have contacted a seller of a 1999 Toyota Tacoma on Craigslist who tells me he is selling the truck for $4000.oo which includes the "shipping" cost. He lives in Orlando Fl. and has the vehicle already in a shipping crate. He is a Sgt. in the US Army and he says the truck only has 70,000 miles! Sounds too good to be true. He has Emailed me the VIN, but I am very sceptical. I am considering searching the number on Carfax, but still have concerns. I need advise. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Dan: Doesn't sound too good to me. What's it doing in a shipping container? Who's going to unload it from the container when it gets to your house? I find it hard to believe that a shipping company will transport the container to you with the truck inside...it just doesn't happen. I am sure that the Sgt., has a lot of answers explaining every little doubt you may have, so for that reason my friend, I would not only walk away from this deal, I would RUN! It really stinks! Best of luck, Jim.
