Tips on Buying Cars: advice on buying a car, gas mileage, insurance premium

I am 18 i recently joined the military and i am looking to buy a new moderatly priced car, the problem is i dont know nothing about cars or buying one and i dont want to get ripped off at the dealership

Firstly, I want to thank you for serving our country!

Secondly, it's important for you to determine what you're looking for in a new car. What's important to you? Good gas mileage is probably top of the list. Do you need a 2 dr or 4 dr? Do you need a 4 wheel drive?

You should also consider what your monthly payment limit is...along with what your auto insurance is going to run you. Unfortunately, being only 18 years old, most likely...your insurance will be a bit pricey. With that said, you will need to budget for both payment and insurance premium. I would contact a few insurance companies to see what your choices are with which vehicles that will make sense for your budget too.
