BMW Repair: 2002, bmw dealerships, bmw dealers

I NOTICED A NEIGHTBOR (WHOM I DO NOT KNOW) HAS A 2002 SITTING ON HIS FRONT LAWN WITH A FOR SALE SIGN ON IT. BEFORE I GO THE NEXT STEP TO  INQUIRE I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE AVAILABILITY OF PARTS AND SERVICE. WILL BMW DEALERSHIPS HAVE PARTS AND SERVICE FOR 2002 / 2002TII VINTAGE VEHICLES.
ALSO, WHAT SHOULD I BE AWARE OF REGARDING THE AGE OF THESE CARS. I USED TO DRIVE 2002 / 2002TII'S IN THE EARLY 70'S.

Honestly, I do not know much regarding the 2002. I have never even sat in one. BMW dealers will still service them to my knowledge and there are some parts available from the dealer. there are also 2002 owner groups that can steer you in the right direction. the only thing I know to look out for is rust. Anything else to look for, I wouldn't know. sorry
