Tires: Snow tire

Hi,
I am looking to buy new snow tires for my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan sxt.
The tire size is P225/65/17. I read that it is a good idea to downsize snow tires? I know Dodge caravans come in different tire sizes not sure why.  Do you think it is safe to go to a 16 inch rim instead and what the other diameters should be?

According to Tire Rack, the size needed to downsize your vehicle is 225/70R16.  

Do I think this is a good idea?  Yes, if you are going to dedicate a set of wheels for this purpose.

be sure to get wheels y=that will fit your vehicle - and for that, you should work with a retailer who will be responsible for the fitment.  Don't try to do this yourself.
