Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn tractor not cutting on one side, sears lawn tractors, proper manuals

Question
I have two Sears lawn tractors. The smaller 17.5hp, 42" wide cut one currently has a problem. It has two blades, and the blade on the right is not cutting well. This problem just started, and it was cutting fine a week ago when I last used it. I managed to jack the mower up on ramps and cleaned out the deck and checked the blades. They are a bit nicked, but the right blade doesn't look any different from the left, so I'm not sure why it doesn't cut as well. When I mow, the left side of the row is cut cleanly, but the right side leaves a line of tall grass near the center of the row. The only way to get a clean cut is to overlap my rows by half.

What should I look for or how can I fix this? Should I replace the blades?

Answer
Hello Laurie:

Other than the Line of Tall Grass Near the Center; is the Blade Cutting Level on the Right? If Yes, then Replace Both Blades. When the Blades Get Worn they will Leave a Streak in the Middle as you Described. If No, then Check the Blade Spindle. The Bearings May Need Replacing. If the Bearings are Bad the Blade will Lean when the Blade Belt is Tightened. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
