Tires: outside wear, life thanks, alignment

Question
My left front outside edge has most of the tread worn off.  The right front outside edge is beginning to show wear.  So I had the front end realigned.  The center of the tires still have more than 50% tread life left on them.  Is there any problem in keeping these tires on and using up the remaining tread life?  Thanks!

Answer
Russ,

I hope you realize that once you have the wear on the outside - which was caused by the alignment - that fixing the alignment didn't put rubber on the tire, so it will continue to have wear on the outside for its remaining life. - AND - while the wear on the outside will go at a reduced rate, the outside is what is going to be worn out first - which means the tire should be removed at that point.
