Tires: chevy s10, tire placard, doorpost

Question
I bought a 98 Chevy S10 and it had 225 75 15's on the rear and 215 75 15's on the front. The users manual says 205 75 15. The website I was just at said I could use 215 65 15. What's the difference and what's best?

Answer
Timothy,

It would be best to stick with the original tire size.

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker, commonly called the tire placard than lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that tire size.  The placard can usually be found on a doorpost or in the glove box.
